Oh, it’s so hard to keep up with everything.
I just wanted to share a couple from my niece Amy’s wedding…(don’t ask how long ago this was…suffice it to say, AWHILE).
Amy is one of the funniest, most vivacious people I know, and I’m proud to be her aunt. She’s unbelievable with kids and has a sense of humor that will knock your socks off. She was so gorgeous, her groom was wonderful and I think the whole day came off without a hitch. I haven’t finished all the post-processing, but here are just a few…aren’t the colors beautiful?

Well, it’s been about a million years since I’ve blogged. Well, maybe more like 8 weeks or something. That’s because for the past 8 weeks I’ve pretty much felt like it was all I could do to get a load of dishes in the dishwasher and some food in the kids’ mouths.
You see, round about March of next year we’ll be adding another brennerbaby around here. And, let’s just say I’m no spring chicken. Believe me, pregnant at (almost) 38 is NOTHING like pregnant and (even) 35. Wow. My bed has never looked as good as it has the past several weeks.
All that to say, we’re thrilled…all five of us. I can’t wait to have a new little bundle around, and I am quite, quite sure that this little one will never want for a set of arms for holding.
So there you go. If I’ve had time to sleep or to blog, I’ve definitely been choosing sleep. :) I’m sure I’ll be needing to stock up on it…

There was a little concern going around about the weather at this recent beautiful wedding. The sky certainly was threatening to let go a bunch of rain on the outdoor ceremony…but I think this couple must be charmed because there were just a few drops as we did some pre-ceremony shots (and this means good luck) with the sun actually peeking out from time to time during the vows! It was lovely.
You may have heard me say it before…I don’t really do weddings. And, really I don’t. But, this gorgeous bride was hard to refuse…she assured me she wanted great candids, the wedding was small and everybody would be really laid-back about the whole evening. And, she was right. This is the way to do a wedding…a small group of your friends and family gathering together to celebrate with a simple ceremony and lovely dinner. I was honored to be there…truly it was a special night!

This is how happy we’ll be if we win…

You know how some things just make you feel old? Like when Radio Disney is “remaking” songs from your teen years? Or some fashion trend makes its round the second time? Or when you’re shooting the senior pictures of a beautiful young woman who you’ve been babysitting SINCE BIRTH? Ouch.
And she’s gorgeous…I told her that in my mind she’s perpetually about 6, so each time she walks through the door I’m stunned to see the knockout of a teenager. And, she’s funny. And smart. And pretty wonderful all around.
Easy to photograph, too…can you see why?

Umm, yeah. Gorgeous. Then, she says, “Well, I brought my prom dress because I love it so much, but we don’t have to use it…” Not use it? Are you kidding? Oh, we’re using it. I’m sure those parents with their little kids were wondering what a girl with a prom dress was doing on the playground…

You may just be seeing a few more seniors on the horizon as well at little lives…
I’ve seen this group before…last time, they were a group of four cousins, but have since added the littlest sweetpea to the mix. We had such fun, and they were incredible troopers!
I’ll start with the oldest, handsome Mr. Z. What a charmer! He’s polite as all get out…and clearly adores his little sisters.

Next is lovely Miss L…just as beautiful as I remember, and her personality is just as wonderful. I think you can see how sweet she is here…

And I wish I could post the next two side-by-side, as they clearly are a pair. Mr. M. and Miss H. are right about the same age and apparently love each other like crazy. I think they make a fantastic pair of cousins…

And last, but most certainly not least, is sweet Miss. L., the latest addition to the brood, and clearly the apple of everyone’s eye. She was very skeptical of me (and who can blame her?) but we got some beautiful shots that show off her wonderful little rosebud lips…

What a wonderful group…so lucky to have gotten to hang out with them. Thanks, guys!
Oh, my. This little guy. I’ve had the good fortune of being able to photograph several very good-natured babies recently…and Mr. B was certainly no exception. He also happened to sleep through the night for the first time last night, and followed it with a monster morning nap, so in spite of the fact that I’m sure he was just stunned in general (”what TIME is it?”) and had me hovering over him for an hour or so with a giant black contraption, he was just as cute as they come. Don’t you agree?

And then there’s baby hands and feet. Seriously. They kill me.

And, my new favorite image. I love it because he’s so unbelievably cute in it. But besides that, apparently I have a strong need for approval (even from babies who don’t really know me), because when I look at it, it makes me think I am as funny as I think I am. And that makes a girl feel good. What can I say? Issues.

That, and his parents (and big sisters) are truly some of the most amazing people around, and we hung around this morning and it was just all around a good time. Thanks, guys.
I haven’t forgotten about these beautiful kids; but they haven’t gotten the attention they deserve on my blog!
First, here are three completely lovely kids; and very nearly the nicest ones ever. Polite as can be and pretty much willing to do whatever. Sometimes I say this about every kid I photograph…but I mean it every time; check out the eyes on these three!

And then these precious twins from Chicago…very, very busy and as sweet as can be. They were a little fussy from time to time (and who wouldn’t be when some strange woman is bossing you around for a few hours?) but they warmed up to me and we got some great shots. Actually, I think it would be tough to get bad shots of these two, don’t you agree?

And last, but by no means least, this group of troopers. I’m sure they were tired of me asking for “just one more shot” but were so cooperative. I could shoot these three for days…they are gorgeous and so photogenic. There wasn’t a bad image in the bunch!

When you meet little Mr. K., you can see why his family swoons over him. He is as adorable as he is charming; and I think the girls need to watch out once he understands how gorgeous his eyes are. Oh, and that skin…as smooth as all get out and the color of a latte…wow! Maybe I was a bit smitten.

Check out these eyes…

And the skin. I mean really. You could make a cool million if you could bottle whatever it is that makes a baby’s skin like that…

I love shooting little ones in my neighborhood…it’s so convenient and I love the idea of seeing my clients out and about! I was lucky enough to capture some images of a precious little newborn and his family last night; he of course did what most newborns do (this is definitely the rule, not the exception)…he sensed that I wanted him asleep, so he kept those little eyes open for as long as he ever has! I often hear, “I swear! He’s never been awake this long!” I think it’s so funny. Eventually, though, he conked out and here’s one I love love love…

Can you see the gorgeous canvas of Mom, pregnant, in the background? Wow. And speaking of Mom, let me just say wow again. Mother of four, the baby is just a little over a week old, and she is a KNOCKOUT. And, she’s got such amazing personality as well. Just look how beautiful she is…

And then just a couple of the two sweet girls, just for fun…they were delightful! Big sister had a lot to say, and is clearly a huge help to Mom, and little sister had a lot to say as well (even if I couldn’t always understand it!) and was just as cute as a button. In this image, she is noticing the early evening moon…so cute.

And big sister…telling me all about her busy upcoming summer schedule…what a doll!
